Present Responsibilities

 

Yale Tauber is the Principal of Independent Compensation Committee Adviser, LLC.  He has specialized expertise in providing independent advice on executive compensation and benefits matters of concern to compensation committees and boards of directors of publicly-held corporations.   He is also the Program Director for The Conference Board’s conferences and seminars on compensation.  

 

Experience

 

Mr. Tauber is a former Worldwide Partner of Mercer Human Resource Consulting., where he served as national leader of Mercer’s executive compensation practice and head of all of its consulting operations in New York and New Jersey. 

 

He has lectured extensively and co-authored several books and numerous articles on executive compensation and employee benefits subjects, including Executive Compensation (BNA Books, November 2002).  He has appeared on television as a guest commentator on CNN, CNBC, Financial News Network and The Wall Street Journal Reports.

 

Before joining Mercer in 1987, Mr. Tauber had been the partner in charge of the compensation and benefits practice at the law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Leiby & MacRae and, before that, a partner at the law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler.

 

Education and Professional Affiliations

 

Mr. Tauber has an A.B. from the University of Rochester, an L.L.B., cum laude, from Columbia University School of Law and an L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University Graduate School of Law.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel.  He is also a member of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation Employee Benefits Committee and has served as the Chair of both its Subcommittee on Executive Compensation and Task Force on Soft Dollars and Directed Brokerage Issues.  Mr. Tauber also was a Member of the Subcommittee on Qualified Cash or Deferred Arrangements.  He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section Committee on Employee Benefits, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, World at Work, and the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals.
